Dance

I grew up dancing merengue and cumbia in the living room with my family. I studied dance and psychology in college as an undergraduate student and have worked as a freelance dance artist ever since. During my undergraduate studies I began learning about the crossover between my two fields of study and the significance of the mind body connection and its impact on overall health and wellness. This is where my journey in somatics began and my exploration and curiosity continues.

I use dance, movement, gentle yoga, and improvisation in my therapeutic process when it is a good fit for my clients. Movement can provide individuals with the opportunity to connect to their body’s wisdom without words while accessing creativity, insight, and understanding.

I also continue to teach dance classes in the community, mentor, choreograph, and provide master classes & workshops for all levels.

Please reach out if you are interested in learning more about my offerings as a dance artist or if you’re interested in movement as part of the therapeutic process.

Art

I utilize art in my therapeutic process as a tool to support clients in their healing journey. Engaging in creative exercises can provide individuals with a positive creative experience and outlet. Creativity has been linked with improvements in mood and overall well-being. Creative writing is another artistic tool that can promote self reflection, self-awareness, and healing. Tapping into creativity can help individuals discover new ways of thinking and problem solving.

Please reach out if you are interested in learning more about my art offerings.

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up

Music

Music and songwriting have been a part of my life for the past 20+ years. Listening to, writing, or creating music can be a powerful tool for emotional healing as well as a creative outlet. It has the potential of reducing stress and improving cognitive functioning. Music can also provide an avenue for people to explore and find their voice.

My office space is located within the same building as The Lounge Recording Studio, giving me access to instruments and room for exploration. Please reach out to me for more information if you are interested in songwriting, or if you’re interested in the therapeutic benefits of music.
